A 1960s La Jolla home with the sewer running under the front deck and trees the owner had planted over several decades. TSR lined the 55-foot cast iron line without disturbing either.
The owner had been putting off the repair for a long time. Her home dated from the 1960s, the backups were confined to the downstairs bathroom guests used, and the cast iron lateral ran out under the front deck and through landscaping she had been planting for decades. She did not know exactly where the line ran, only that she did not want it dug up.
TSR's camera survey located the pipe and found severe root buildup as the cause of the backups. The run to the street was only about 55 feet. The crew lined it in a fraction of the time an excavation would have taken, and she stayed in the house while they worked. The bathroom has not backed up since.
